Single student VILT rates
Ledet Training attempts to run all VILT classes regardless of enrollments. When possible, Ledet Training prefers to run online VILT classes even if there is only one student enrolled.
However, following this policy does require a great deal of flexibility on the part of instructors. Since online VILT classes can typically be taught from home and do not require travel expenses for the instructors, many instructors agree to offer special "single student" pricing when being assigned online VILT classes. Such special pricing is entirely optional and it is up to each contract instructor as to whether or not to offer special "single-student" pricing on VILT classes.
If an instructor has agreed to offer special pricing for accepting and teaching VILT classes, the following are the standard operating procedures typically followed by Ledet Training.
- When only 1 student is registered for a VILT class, Ledet Training will prebook the event at the negotiated "Single Student" rate.
- Plans will therefore generally be made by Ledet Training to deliver VILT classes even if there is just one student registered.
- If there are no additional registrations, at the time the final go/no go decision is made for the class, the event will typically be held for just the one registration and a booking email will be sent to the instructor based on the negotiated "single-student: rate. The instructor will then bill at their negotiated "single student" rate.
- If a second paying student registers and attends, the amount billed will go back up to normal rates for the instructor, even if such registration should occur after the prebook or booking email has been received. In these cases, the prebooked or booked amount will not match the actual billed amount, and Ledet Training will be responsible for updating the company's internal records to reflect this change. The instructor will bill their normal rate instead of the "Single Student" rate. This only applies to additional paying registrations, however.
- If any second student is a free student (such as a retake or a customer satisfaction credit), it is the responsibility of Ledet Training to communicate that fact ahead of time to the instructor and request permission from the instructor to treat the event as a single-student event for billing purposes. If instructors do not get notification ahead of time as to any special "free" students, the instructor will assume all students are paying and bill at their normal full rate. If there is an error related to such free students, it will have to be addressed after the fact at the time of billing, but it is up to Ledet to communicate about any special "free" students, not the instructors. This is not meant to say Ledet will automatically pay for all errors, only that it is clearly the responsibility of Ledet to be clear in communications and the instructor is under no obligation to teach more than one student in a VILT at a "single student" rate. Ledet training does appreciate the flexibility and consideration offered by our valued independent contract trainers and does not intend to abuse any concessions granted to the company by its independent contract trainers and vendors.
